The National data sets shown on the Visualising Australasia's Soils (VAS) portal are sourced from various Commonwealth Government departments and agencies, including the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI), Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), GeoScience Australia (GA), Bureau of Meteorology BoM), as well as the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) and the Australian Soil Resource Information System (ASRIS).

The data represents an example of the types of spatial layers that are available and the number and types of data displayed will evolve as the VAS project team works with the VAS participants to determine which layers are most useful and relevant to their needs.
